Peoria Bar Diversity Scholarship

The Peoria County Bar Association (PCBA) will issue a $1000.00 scholarship to an entering first year law student and a $1,000 scholarship to a student entering the second year of law school. The goal of the PCBA is to diversify its membership by providing financial assistance to racial and ethnic minority law students who have an intent to practice law in the Peoria area following graduation from law school.

Criteria for Award

1.     Applicant must be an entering 1st year law student  or returning 2nd year law student for the 2006-2007 academic year

2.     Applicant must be a US citizen or permanent resident.

3.     Applicant must have a four-year college degree or expected to obtain a college degree by the spring 2006

4.     Applicant must be accepted to a law school or have a pending application at a law school

Requirements

1.     Submit an Application Form

2.     Submit a Personal Statement (should communicate any ties to the Peoria area and declaration to practice in the Peoria Community)

3.     Copy of Transcript.

4.     Submit at least two letters of Recommendation

5.     Copies of Federal income tax forms
