1. St. PADdy's Day Luncheon
The Chicago Alumni Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity is pleased to announce that our Annual St. PADdy's Day Luncheon is set for Monday, March 15th at the Union League Club. Please join us as we honor Justice Mary Ann G. McMorrow (Ret.) with our "Distinguished Service to the Profession Award" during a festive get-together featuring traditional Irish fare and music. To reserve your seat for this very special event, please fill out and return the attached registration form to the address provided on the attached form.
In accordance with our mission of service to the student, the profession and the community, a portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to our Justice Daniel P. Ward Scholarship Fund, and also to Misericordia Heart of Mercy. Please contact Luncheon Chair Kevin Hull (kevin_m_hull@yahoo.com) for event information and sponsorship opportunities. 2. Help Haiti Rebuild Dinner and Auction
We are teaming up with the PAD Chicago Alumni Chapter to help raise money for rebuilding efforts in Haiti with a silent auction and dinner on Wednesday, March 31st at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago.
Attached is the "Save the Date" flyer, and a updated version will be sent out soon. Student rate for the benefit is $50, and volunteers on the day of would go for free! Interested students are encouraged to contact Alumni Relations Chair Desiree Lauricella at desiree.lauricella@gmail.com.
3. PAD Executive Board Elections
PAD will be holding executive board elections for the 2010-2011 school year at the end of March (after Spring Break). Nominations for the following executive board positions may begin Monday, March 1st by emailing pad@jmls.edu: Justice, Vice Justice, Clerk, Treasurer, and Marshal. Please see attachment for descriptions of the positions, which are subject to change by discretion of the incoming board to take on additional responsibilities and create additional positions.
Candidates will be required to provide a brief personal statement regarding the position they are running for to be sent to the membership, and they will also be required to give a brief speech at a general membership meeting. If you have any questions at this time, please email Justice Dan Powell at pad@jmls.edu.
