The Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition began in 1996 to raise awareness about international environmental challenges. The event has grown to include regional competitions in Australia, Latin America, North America, North India, South India, and Southeast Asia, with more than 80 teams competing from law schools around the world.

The Stetson competition provides an opportunity for law students to explore issues of international environmental law in the context of a dispute before the International Court of Justice. The participants' memorials (briefs) are evaluated by international environmental legal experts.  The competition's website is http://justice.law.stetson.edu/environmental/.

In 2009, Pinar Shapiro, Adam Vail, and David Rainey placed second at the Regional competition, were Quarterfinalists at the International competition, and had the Best Memorial at Internationals. David Rainey was the Best Oralist at the Regional level and the Fifth Best Oralist at the International round.

In 2006 Elizabeth Al-Dajani and Bryan Jones were Semifinalists in the Domestic Regional, won Third Best Applicant Memorial, and advanced to the International Finals where they won Second Best Applicant Memorial.
