National Juvenile Law Moot Court Competition

HOME - BOARD - COUNCIL - TEAMS - HERZOG - CONTACT

The National Juvenile Law Moot Court Competition is hosted annually by Whitter Law School in Santa Ana, California.

Recent issues include the following: (1) whether the First Amendment Free Exercise shields a religious institution from tort liability where its certified members relied solely on prayer treatment in attending the sick 18-month old child who died under her care; and (2) whether church members, are liable in a wrongful death action because they relied on prayer treatment rather than conventional medical care.

In 2009, AJ Young and Ron Wright were Quarterfinalists. AJ Young was the Second Best Oralist and Ron Wright was the Distinguished Oralist. The competition's website is http://www.wls-juvi.com
