National First Amendment Moot Court Competition

The National First Amendment Moot Court Competition is sponsored by Vanderbilt University and the First Amendment Center.  Approximately 32 law schools compete annually arguing a First Amendment issue.  This year's problem involved speech in the work place.  More than 18 million people work in public employment at the federal, state, or local level in the United States.  A significant portion of federal court dockets involve retaliation claims filed by public employees who allege their employers punished them for their expression.

The competition's website is http://www.firstamendmentcenter.org/about.aspx?item=Moot_Court.

In 2007 Elizabeth Bartels and Daniel Saeedi advanced to Quarterfinals.
