LIBRARY: Dictionaries and Encyclopedias

Cambridge Dictionaries:  Offers access to a number of specialized dictionaries published by Cambridge University Press including dictionary of American English and Dictionary of Idioms.

Everybody’s Legal Dictionary: Nolo Press’ Shark Talk dictionary offers plain English definitions for more than 1,000 legal words.

Findlaw Legal Dictionary: Search for legal words and phrases from your desktop from a licensed version of Merriam Webster’s Dictionary of Law, 1996.

Information Please Encyclopedia: Access more than 57,000 articles from the Columbia Encyclopedia, Sixth Edition.

Merriam Webster’s Learning Center: Search Merriam-Webster’s abridged and unabridged dictionaries as well as thesaurus.

OneLook Dictionary Search: Search more than 100 dictionary websites for words and phrases.

Wex: Wex is a collaboratively-created, public-access law dictionary and encyclopedia. It is sponsored and hosted by the Legal Information Institute at the Cornell Law School (http://www.lawschool.cornell.edu/). Much of the material that appears in Wex was originally developed for the LII's "Law about..." pages, to which Wex is the successor.

Wikipedia: Wikipedia  is a  Web-based, free content encyclopedia.  Articles are submitted by volunteers from all around the world.  At present, Wikipdia has more than 2 million articles in English
