Spring into Research Success

The library will renew its popular series of research training sessions beginning on Wednesday, March 26th at noon in room 1102.  These sessions will occur every Wednesday continuing through April 23rd.

3/26: "Forms for Civil Practice" (Thomas Keefe)
Much of a lawyer's time is spent drafting legal documents such as wills, employment agreements, and jury instructions.  Learn about reference librarians' most requested and most recommended sources, both in print and electronic formats.

4/2: "An Introduction to Foreign Legal Research" (Anne Abramson)
Learn how and when you really need to do foreign legal research.  This presentation will cover both free and proprietary sources.

4/9: "Using Blogs for Legal Research and Practice Development" (Raizel Liebler)
Blogs are becoming an essential form of professional communication.  Learn how to take advantage of them to improve your law practice.

4/16: An Introduction to Cook County Law Library
Interested in learning about the impressive practitioner's collection at Cook County Law Library and how this collection can help your practice? Come hear Jean M. Wenger, the Government Documents/Foreign & International Law Librarian at the Cook County Law Library, speak at noon on Wednesday, April 16th as part of John Marshall Law Library's National Library Week's celebration. Note:  This presentation will occur in rm. 200.

4/23: "Tracking and Updating Your Legal Research" (June Liebert)
Today's online legal research products offer a myriad of ways to store and retrieve information about your searches.  Learn how to use these to become a more effective legal researcher.
