The ITS department regularly upgrades staff and faculty computer equipment to provide reliable and up-to-date computing experience. Our policy on computer upgrades is given here.
Network File Storage
Network file storage is available at any time while on the John Marshall Law School’s network. Network storage offers innumerable benefits:
- Daily backup of network storage to ensure data integrity
- Secure, password protected storage available only to whom they belong
- Laptops backup automatically anything located under the My Documents folder
- Network drives that automatically appear locally on the computer after logging in to our network

Most users will be mapped to multiple drives when they first log in. Depending on the department the user is assigned to, the person will see various drives with differing drive letter names (G:, H:, I:, etc..). All users, however, will receive at least an F: and X: drive.
Printing
Most full time faculty and many staff are given individual LaserJet printers for work usage. Depending on the department and location, users also have access to shared network printers for large or complex printing. We provide the faculty and staff the ability to send large print jobs to these printers:
- 10th floor (CBA) faculty secretaries office (room 1002) for faculty user
- Color printing is also available at various locations including the 10th floor of CBA
- For very largeprint jobs all staff can gain access to 6th floor printer across from room 621
Network Connectivity
The ITS department has set up numerous ways for faculty and staff to connect to the network. For security purposes we have the following features enabled:
- The John Marshall Law School has a content filtering in effect in order to provide a safe web experience. We edit the content filters daily to prevent unnecessary blocking of certain web pages. You can view the policy here.
- Virtual Private Network (VPN) access is available for those who may require the need to work from home. Please call the Help Desk for assistance with the configuration when necessary.
Wireless Connectivity
The John Marshall Law School provides the faculty and staff the ability to connect wirelessly from any place within the campus. The Help Desk can provide any assistance needed for setup and configuration.
