Import Email

The following instructions will walk you through importing messages from an external email account or your legacy JMLS student email account.

If you wish to import your existing emails from your JMLS account into your new Windows Live account, then please complete the following:

Note:

- This will import your INBOX items only
- You MUST use Internet Explorer to import your mail (Not Safari or Firefox)

1. Log on to your Windows Live @ Edu account at www.outlook.com
2. Click Options and scroll down to "Other Accounts"
3. Click on New
4. Enter your legacy (old) JMLS email address and password.
   • Click the link in the following window that appears to enter your account information manually.
5. Fill in the following:
   
   Account Information

• Display Name: Enter your name
• Email Address (Example: 5smith@stu.jmls.edu)
• Username (Example: 5smith)
• Password (Your JMLS password)

Server Information


• Incoming Server: webmail.jmls.edu
• Authentication: Basic
• Encryption: SSL
• Port: 995




6. Click Save
   • Be patient.  It may take several minutes to download all your JMLS email
