Welcome to the Information Technology Services online orientation.  Your participation in this short course will help you use and understand the technology services offered at the John Marshall Law School (JMLS).  By reading the information on these pages, you can familiarize yourself with the technology available to students at JMLS.

Technology Resources at the John Marshall Law School

Below is a list of places that can best serve your technical needs.


Information Technology Services (ITS)

JMLS ITS Logo

The ITS department can provide support for a wide variety of technology related issues.  The first point of contact for ITS department is the Help Desk, located on the 2nd floor (Room 217) around the corner from the student lounge. The John Marshall Law School offers several places where you can get support for a variety of different technology related needs.

The Help Desk can be contacted via email helpdesk@jmls.edu or phone (312) 427-2737 x550.  ITS offers the following services:

  • Assistance with laptop wireless network connectivity

  • Support for computers labs and network printing

  • Help with email and network accounts

  • Assist in laptop troubleshooting and repair

The ITS Help Desk provide support 7 days a week, follow this link for the latest hours.

 

LegalEASE Course Management System
LegalEASE is a web portal designed for the communication of confidential academic information intended for use by the John Marshall Law School community.

  • Any questions, access problems, or suggestions regarding LegalEASE should be directed to the Help Desk helpdesk@jmls.edu or (312) 427-2737 x550

  • Questions on academic records content in LegalEASE can also be directed to the Academic Services office (Registrar) at (312) 427-2737 x771

LegalEASE is where you can:

  • View grades or change course schedules

  • View course handouts, announcements, or assignments

  • Prints unofficial transcripts and view account balances

 

Library Services

Brio Library

Your best resource for electronic legal research is the Louis Biro Library on the 6th floor of the John Marshall Law School.

The Reference Librarians can be reached at (312) 427-2737 x729 and can help you with the following:

  • Assistance in finding and using online legal resources

  • Help with using and accessing Westlaw and LexisNexis databases

  • Aid in using Cali legal instruction site

  • Access to CD and DVD legal tools

  • DVDs and Videos of past classes, lectures, and events



Security Systems/Student ID
The Security department is the first technology interface you will likely encounter.  Through the ID card, issued by this department, you gain access to the building, bathrooms, and other various secured areas.  Additionally, your ID card also gives you the ability to print to the network printers and use the Library copiers.

For any ID card issues visit Rick Regan on the second floor of the State Street building, adjacent to room 210.  He can also be contacted at 6regan@jmls.edu or x309.  Visit him for the following issues:

  • Replacing, modifying, or picking up ID cards

  • CTA U-Pass program

  • Issues with copier/printing credits

  • Problems with doorway, passageway, or building access

  • Theft, violence, and other disturbing or criminal activities
