Religious Holidays
Professors who observe religious holidays may cancel classes on the holiday. They should make up the class at some other time. Students who observe religious holidays may be excused from class. Professors should try to make some reasonable accommodation for those students. This is the general policy followed by most law schools in the Chicago area.
Commencement
The School expects every faculty member to participate in the academic procession at commencement.
Advance information is sent to each instructor so that all arrangements may be made. Caps and gowns are required for the procession at commencement. These will be furnished by the School for those who do not own a cap and gown.
Social Functions
The faculty is urged to attend the various luncheons, meetings, and dinners sponsored by the school, alumni and student organizations. If you attend more than one of the Law Review, Moot Court, Journal of Computer & Information Law, and Review of Intellectual Property Law dinners, the school will reimburse you for the second, third and fourth of such dinners.
