Professor Michael J. Polelle
Activities
He earned a certificate of Professional Achievement
in Mediation Training from DePaul University's Center for Dispute Resolution.
The certificate marked the completion of an intensive week-long training of
forty hours in a program approved by the Presiding Judge of the Law Division of
Cook County. Under Local Rule 20 of the Circuit Court of Cook County Prof.
Polelle is now certified to mediate cases referred to him by the Circuit Court
of Cook County. He believes he can now foster the teaching of alternative
dispute resolution at the law school as well as introduce the concept of
mediation into his law school courses of Evidence and Torts.

During a recent trip to Israel,
Professor Ralph Ruebner of The John Marshall Law School received a human rights
award from the Association for the Quality of Life and Environment in the
Western Galilee. The association, based in the City of Nahariya, uses Green
Party environmental projects to promote Jewish-Arab dialogue and to foster
cooperation among the teens of the ethnically diverse population of Northern
Israel. Ruebner was recognized for his contributions to "the struggle for
human rights and the quality of the environment," and his work on behalf of
human rights for the Palestinian people, and people around the world. Ruebner
