Judicial Nominations and the Use of the Filibuster Discussed at John Marshall

The John Marshall Law School and Chicago Lawyer Chapters of the American Constitution Society (ACS) and the Federalist Society recently co-hosted a program, "Debate on Judicial Nominations & The Use of the Filibuster." Delta Theta Phi and the Illinois Bar Student Association Present Panel Discussion

Delta Theta Phi and the Illinois Bar Student Association Present "If It's Your Law Firm, You Are the Senior Partner," on Saturday April 16 from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. in room 503. A Free lunch for pre-registered students will be served.

Topics to be covered by the panel of attorneys include: low-cost research resources; cheap offices; malpractice insurance; client acceptance credit cards; lawyer referral services; and more.

Professor John D. Ingram

Publications

He has accepted an offer of publication from the University of Miami Business Law Review for his article, "Misrepresentation in Applications for Insurance." It will be published early in 2006.




Professor Mark E. Wojcik

Activities

He chaired the meeting of the Interest Group for Teaching International Law, part of the Annual Meeting of the American Society of International Law in Washington, D.C. 

He also participated in the ABA AIDS Coordinating Committee during its Washington D.C. meetings as the representative of the American Bar Association's Criminal Justice Section. 

He also served as the Chief Judge of the international quarterfinal rounds in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition.

On April 5, 2005 he spoke on "Careers in International Law" at the University of Alabama School of Law in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

April 11

The Student Bar Association 2nd Annual Law Week

The Annual Spring Fling will take place at 12:00 p.m. in room 3 East. Merit awards will be presented, SBA candidate speeches will be heard and we will announce the favorite professor of the graduating seniors. Lunch will be served. All are welcome.

April 12

The Loan Consolidation program will be in room 200 at 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

The Fair Housing Association will meet at 11:15 a.m. in room 402.

The Black Law Student Association will meet at 4:00 p.m. in room 201.

Student Bar Association Board elections

April 13

The Loan Consolidation program will be at 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. in room 200.

The Student Bar Association will meet at 5:15 p.m. in room 216.

The Hispanic Law Student Association will meet at 5:00 p.m. in room 216.

The Black Law Student Association will meet at 4:00 p.m. in room 201.

The Public Interest Law Council will meet at 12:00 p.m. in room 201.

April 14

The N.O.W. series will feature a program on Constitutional Law and Civil Rights at 12:30 p.m. in room 216. Refreshments will be provided.

Diversity Day will provide food from different cultures and entertainment at 5:00 p.m. in 3 East. All are welcome.

The Christian Legal Society will meet at 1:00 p.m. in room 402.

The Animal Law Society will meet at 12:15 p.m. in room 428.

The SBA date auction will be held at Kincaides at 9:00 p.m. All proceeds will go to "Chicago Cares".

April 15

The Annual Hispanic Law Student Association Fiesta will be held at 5:00 p.m. in room 200. You will not want to miss this festive evening of dance, great food and the honoring of one of our graduates.

The Black Law Student Association will meet at 4:00 p.m. in room 216.

April 16

The Black Law Student Association tutoring/alumni mentoring program will meet at 12:00 p.m. in room 216.

A symposium for those thinking of going into practice, "If It Is Your Law Firm, You Are the Senior Partner," wil be held at 12:30 p.m. in room 503.
