In Memoriam - Philip Baim, `29
Philip Baim, the alumnus whose million dollar donation in 1993 was recognized by the Law School with the naming of the moot courtroom in honor of him and his wife, died Sunday, May 11. He was 97 years old. Baim graduated from The John Marshall Law School in 1929. Born and raised rural Nebraska, he lost everything in the Great Depression, but managed to build a private practice in downtown Chicago that spanned 60 years. He was an active member of The John Marshall Law School Board of Trustees for many years and was recently designated a Trustee Emeritus by the Board. Baim is also credited with founding the Decalogue Society of Jewish Lawyers which today is the largest ethnic bar association in the country. Top Of PageSchedule of EventsMay 18
