Faculty Activity and Publications

Professors Michael L. Closen and Mark E. Wojcik

Activities

They participated in a February 23 Midwest Regional meeting for Health Law Teachers, held at Loyola University School of Law.

Professor Celeste M. Hammond

Activities

She has accepted the nomination of Graham Grady of Mayer Brown & Platt to membership as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. Membership in the Fellows is limited to 1/3 of one percent of the lawyers who are ABA members in a particular state. The Fellows support the work of the American Bar Foundation, a non-profit national research institute committed to empirical research on law and legal institutions.

At the annual meeting of the Association of American Law Schools in San Francisco, Professor Hammond was re-elected to the Executive Committee of the Post JD Section that she founded in 1998. The Section concerns itself with issues of providing legal education beyond the JD degree. Programs offering LL.M. degrees in specialized areas of practice is the growth area for legal education.

Professor Hammond presented her comments, "The Paradigm Shift from the Property Law Perspective to a Contracts Law Perspective in Commercial Landlord's Remedies" to the Chicago Mortgage Attorneys Association on February 13, 2001. She updated her remarks from a previous presentation to the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, of which she is a member and chair of the Amicus Briefs Committee
