John Marshall received two awards of excellence in the Eighteenth Annual APEX 2006 Competition for Communications Professionals. The newly redesigned Briefcase alumni newsletter and the announcement for the Center for Intellectual Property Mark Pedowitz lecture were chosen from among nearly 5,000 entries to receive the awards of excellence in Professional Communications. The competition is sponsored by the publication "Writing that Works," a business communications newsletter, and judged by a panel of communications experts.
Briefcase was designed by Bruce Swart and edited by Marilyn Thomas and Andrea Koklys. Bruce Swart designed the Pedowitz announcement.
