The Trial Advocacy and Dispute Resolution Honors Board

The Trial Advocacy & Dispute Resolution Honors Board is responsible for administering John Marshall's 1L Mock Trial Competition and other trial advocacy and dispute resolution programs as needed. The Honors Board is also responsible for supervising the Honors Council and competing on various interscholastic trial advocacy and dispute resolution teams. The board is comprised of a Presiding Barrister, a Vice Barrister, and six Associate Barristers. An Honors Council member is eligible for a position on the board if he or she successfully completes one term (semester) on the Trial Advocacy & Dispute Resolution Honors Council. The Honors Board manages and participates in interscholastic teams, facilitates the 1L competition each spring semester, coordinates panel discussions, and plans activities for council members, including a mentoring program, social events, and other activities. Board members receive partial tuition waivers for their service. Interviews are held at the end of the fall and spring semesters. The Honors Board members are selected by a Selection Committee.
