Moot Court Honors Program
Teams » National Cultural Heritage Law Moot Court Competition
This competition is sponsored by DePaul University of Law and the Lawyers' Committee for Cultural Heritage Preservation and is held at the Dirksen Federal Building in Chicago. Participants who reach the final round will argue in front of members of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Past issues have included: (1) whether the Immunity from Seizure Act, 22 U.S.C. § 2459, which grants immunity from seizure, bars a suit for damages; and (2) whether the equitable defense of laches provides a complete bar to liability.
In 2012, Patrick Boland and Anna Liisa Schourek were Quarterfinalists. In 2011, Jennifer Bloom and Desiree Lauricella were Quarterfinalists; Ms. Bloom was awarded Best Oralist.
