Transnational Legal Negotiations and Mediation

Field Trip Component to the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland

The course meets at JMLS, with the 14th week of the course consisting of the field trip to Scotland during the end of May into early June.

This course covers client interviewing and counseling, negotiation skills and mediation. In Scotland the course will concentrate on mediation skills in a transnational setting. Clinical Professor Susann MacLachlan teaches the first portion of the course concentrating on negotiation skills; Adjunct professor Anne Mudd, a Chicago area attorney and mediator offers instruction on the latter portion of the class.

The financial aid office is preparing a budget for the field trip that will be reflected in “award letters” allowing students to borrow additional funds in order to meet the field trip expenses.

For additional information, contact Professor Susann MacLachlan – ext. 557.
