About the Fair Housing Legal Support Center

John Marshall has been a pioneer in fair housing law legal education since 1991, and is one of the leading providers of advanced programs in this field. Dedicated to educating the public, housing providers, and government personnel about fair housing law and to provide legal assistance to private and public organizations and persons seeking to eliminate discriminatory housing practices, the Fair Housing Legal Support Center presents conferences and workshops, conducts litigation skills training for attorneys, develops informational materials, and files amicus curiae briefs. As part of the Fair Housing Legal Support Center, the law school operates the Fair Housing Legal Clinic; the Clinic is one of the few legal clinics in the U.S. devoted to fair housing training and enforcement. The mission of the Clinic is to create and ensure open, integrated, and balanced living patterns that strengthen neighborhoods and communities in the Chicago area by providing legal services to individuals who experience housing discrimination and who may otherwise not have access to legal representation.
