The Honorable Timothy C. Stanceu, a justice on the US Court of International Trade in New York, will present “Litigation of Trade-Related Disputes in Challenging Economic Times: A Judge’s Perspective” at The John Marshall Law School’s eighth annual Dominick L. DiCarlo Lecture on November 5, 2009.
Before joining the court, Judge Stanceu was in private practice for 13 years, and worked for the federal government for 15 years, including serving a term as deputy director of the Office of Trade and Tariff Affairs at the US Department of the Treasury.
The annual DiCarlo Lecture is named for Judge Dominick L. DiCarlo, who served on the US Court of International Trade from 1984-1999 and was chief judge from 1991-1996. John Marshall has developed a strong working relationship with the Court of International Trade. Every fall, the John Marshall Center for International Law welcomes a member of the court to John Marshall to give the DiCarlo Lecture.
Four John Marshall graduates have served clerkships with the Court. John Marshall’s LLM Program in International Business and Trade Law also offers a course on Law and Practice before the US Court of International Trade.
