Professor Jones was an associate with the Dallas office of Hughes & Luce, LL.P for several years. Thereafter, he served as Senior Counsel in the commercial law group at AT&T Corp and as Corporate Counsel for Labor and Employment for Blockbuster, Inc. Professor Jones is also a major in the United States Army Judge Advocate Corps and a former US Marine rifleman/scout. He has received numerous military awards and special assignments, including the Army Achievement Medal for his selection as a distinguished instructor and the Navy Meritorious Unit Citation for his actions as a Marine in the Navy SEAL counterterrorism program known as Red Cell.
He is a graduate of the numerous military schools, including the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's School, the U.S. Army Military Police School, the U.S. Marines Leadership Development School, and the U.S. Marines School of Infantry. His scholarship and presentations focus primarily on International Humanitarian Law, Employment Law and Contracts. He holds a JD cum laude from Texas Southern University, and an LLM, with recognition, from Columbia Law School.
Professor Jones joined the faculty in 2007. He teaches Contracts and Employment Law.
