Arthur Acevedo came to The John Marshall Law School from the University of Baltimore School of Law, where he taught contracts and business associations as an assistant professor. He taught international taxation and corporate reorganizations as an adjunct professor at DePaul University. He also guest lectured at IIT/Chicago-Kent College of Law on international business transactions and litigation.

Professor Acevedo worked as the executive vice president and general counsel for Marbo Inc., a licensing and marketing beverage company. He also worked as both a tax attorney and as an international attorney for McDonald's Corporation, He previously worked as tax counsel for Price Waterhouse, and as a revenue agent with the Internal Revenue Service.. He has written about the auditor's role under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act for the DePaul Business & Commerce Law Journal. Professor Acevedo is a certified public accountant. He is fluent in Spanish and proficient in Portuguese.

Professor Acevedo's specialty areas are business organizations and corporate governance, federal income tax (individual and corporate), and contracts. He joined the faculty in 2007 and teaches Contracts, Corporations and Tax.
