Eligible Candidates: JD/LLM in Employee Benefits, LLM in Employee Benefits, and JD/LLM in Tax Law and LLM in Tax Law with a concentration on employee benefits

Degree candidates selected to participate in this program work with Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) attorneys, accountants, and actuaries in Washington, DC. The PBGC is a federal corporation created by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974. It insures private single-employer and multi-employer defined benefit plans. The education objections of this externship include practical experience in defined benefit plans and their terminations; development of research, writing and drafting, and document review skills; and experience in the application of law and policy.
Candidates with a quantitative undergraduate degree (e.g., accounting, math, finance) are preferred.
