JD Programs

John Marshall's Center for Tax Law and Employee Benefits offers JD candidates degree specialization and employable distinction in the emerging field of elder law studies. The JD Certificate in Elder Law develops the necessary skill set to successfully advocate for the fastest growing segment of the U.S. population immediately upon passing the bar.

The Center also offers JD candidates, particularly those with interests in litigation or corporate law, the opportunity to concurrently earn a joint JD/LLM in Tax Law or a joint JD/LLM in Employee Benefits by applying the first 10 credit hours satisfactorily completed in the LLM program to the 90 credit hours required to complete their JD.

LLM & MS Programs

The Center for Tax Law and Employee Benefits has long been a pioneer in graduate legal education. The Graduate Tax Law Programs, among the oldest in the country, offer practicing attorneys and non-attorney professionals a practical grounding in all major areas of taxation, as well as an opportunity for in-depth specialization in corporate taxation, estate and personal financial planning, taxation of closely held businesses, or employee benefits.

The Graduate Employee Benefits Programs, the only programs of their kind in the nation, offer practicing attorneys and non-attorney employee benefits professionals enhanced marketability by developing expertise in legal and policy issues, as well as the skills necessary to think analytically and critically in this ever-changing field. In addition to traditional programs, degree candidates can also earn their LLM or MS in Employee Benefits online available through John Marshall's eCourses distance education.
