Real Estate Scholarships

Chicago Association of REALTORS® Education Foundation (CAREF) Higher Education Scholarship:  The Higher Education Scholarship is awarded up to five students annually and is available to REALTORS® or immediate family members of REALTORS®. Scholarship awards are based on the applicant's indication of interest in pursuing a career in the real estate industry and letters of recommendation. All applicants must be a resident of the State of Illinois.

Amount:  $2,000 - $4,000 paid directly to the institution

Commercial Real Estate Executive Women (CREW) Chicago:  CREW Chicago annually awards one or two scholarships in the amount of $3,000 for graduate and undergraduate students majoring or concentrating in real estate, construction, facility management, architecture, urban planning, real estate law, land economics, real estate appraisal or related real estate fields.

Amount:  $3,000

CoreNet Global Chicago Chapter Scholarship: The new CoreNet Global-Chicago Chapter Award for Academic Excellence recognizes a single student annually who embodies the values of vision, knowledge, respect, perseverance and innovation that define the organization.

Amount:  $5,000 scholarship and a one year membership to CoreNet Global-Chicago Chapter

International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC)

Charles Grossman Graduate Scholarships:  Two $10,000 scholarships are available to full time graduate students, who are also ICSC members and indicate a preference for a career in retail real estate. The recipients of these scholarships will be known as ICSC Foundation Student Scholars.

Amount:  $10,000

John T. Riordan Professional Education Scholarship:  The ICSC Foundation established the John T. Riordan Professional Education Scholarship in 2004 to encourage professional education and to further career development of retail real estate professionals. These scholarships enable young professionals to attend the International Council of Shopping Centers’ (ICSC) professional development schools at no cost.

IREM Foundation:  The Institute of Real Estate Management Foundation is committed to attracting, developing, and retaining individuals for careers in real estate management. This mission is supported by the generosity of individual IREM members and chapters, corporate sponsors, and private contributions.  The IREM Foundation offers two scholarships in real estate management:

  1. George M. Brooker, CPM Diversity Collegiate Scholarship: The purpose of the scholarship is to attract young people from underrepresented populations into the real estate management business and to create a more diverse workforce.

  2. IREM Foundation Collegiate Scholarship:  The purpose of the scholarship is to support the study of real estate and to promote careers in real estate management. 

Amount:  $5,000

Application Deadline:  June 30 and December 31

Real Estate Finance Forum:  The Real Estate Finance Forum Scholarship fund was created in 2006 to encourage the rise of young women who have chosen to pursue an education in real estate for the purpose of building a career in a real estate related field. Each year two $2,500 scholarships will be awarded to a junior, senior, or graduate student concentrating in the real estate area.

Amount:  $2,500

Application Deadline:  November 15th (Applications available September 1st.  Decision and disbursement made January 1st)
