Internal Revenue Service Externship Program

Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Externship Program (3-4)

Students selected to participate in this program work with the attorneys of the Office of Chief Counsel of the IRS's Small Business/Self-Employed Division Counsel, Large and Mid-Size Business Division Counsel, or Tax Exempt/Governmental Entities Counsel. The educational objectives of the course include practical experience in tax/employee benefits law; development of research, writing, and drafting skills; and preparation of pleadings, discovery documents, stipulations of fact, and trial memoranda used in Tax Court cases. Professor Kathryn J. Kennedy is the director.
