LLM IN INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS AND TRADE LAW

If you are looking for a Master of Laws program that will position you for an exciting and challenging international legal career in the global marketplace, you should consider the LLM Program in International Business and Trade Law at The John Marshall Law School in Chicago. John Marshall’s LLM Program in International Business and Trade Law was created to provide students with a sound foundation in the rules, regulations, and legal approaches underlying international business and trade law.

You will be taught by some of the leading international business and trade law practitioners and academics in the United States, Australia and Europe --people who have international practices and who know the cutting-edge issues involved in trade, investment and regulation. We are committed to providing you with a Master of Laws program that combines coursework, skills training, and research within a curriculum that has been developed to meet the needs of a changing world and marketplace. When you are accepted into the LLM Program in International Business and Trade Law at John Marshall, your fellow students will include:

  • lawyers with five to 20 years of experience whose practices are expanding into the international business and/or trade areas or who wish to follow a different career path
  • Recent U.S. law school graduates who are seeking a specialization degree
  • Joint JD/LLM candidates from The John Marshall Law School
  • Lawyers from other countries seeking graduate education in the United States

The graduate students in the IBT LLM Program come from a variety of backgrounds and life experiences.They range in age from their early twenties to their late fifties.Some are relatively new to the practice of law while others have worked as lawyers in a variety of firm settings, as in-house counsel, or in the public sector. You will benefit from the diversity of students in the LLM Program – a diversity that provides an exciting opportunity, both inside and outside the classroom, to share information and experiences.The participation of lawyers from other countries provides an important comparative element.
