JD Certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution

CADR  

To earn a Certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution, a student must complete the 90 semester hours required for the Juris Doctor degree and satisfy all the JD requirements. All JMLS students must complete the following ten (10) hours of core curriculum courses:

Evidence (4), Professional Responsibility (3),  and either Trial Advocacy (3) or Accelerated Trial Advocacy (Basic or IP) (3), or Trial Lawyer (7)

Within the elective course work required for the JD degree, a student must complete fifteen (15) credit hours from the following categories:

A. Minimum of eight (8) credit hours in ADR courses.

B. Externship or Clinic program for a minimum of two (2) credit hours and a maximum of six (6) credit hours.

C. Minimum of four (4) credit hours from the listed Center activities or the listed elective courses.

Students must have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA.

  1. The stated minimum credit hours for each section must be satisfied or the application will be rejected (no exceptions).
  2. DO NOT SUBMIT the application more than two months in advance of your graduation. Your application must be submitted no later than one month prior to your graduation.
  3. DO NOT SUBMIT the application if you have not satisfied the course requirements for each section. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
