Law Student Registration Application for the Illinois Bar Exam (LSR)
1Ls are encouraged to file an LSR during their first year to receive a significant discount in their application for the bar exam, which will be filed in their last semester of law school. An LSR consists of the Character and Fitness Questionnaire, the Illinois State Police Criminal History Form, the Notice and Acknowledgment Form, the Authorization and Release Form, and payment of the LSR fee. Bar Exam Application
3Ls generally file their application to take the Bar Exam in their desired state of practice in the final semester of law school. The Illinois Bar Exam Application consists of the Character and Fitness Questionnaire, the Illinois State Police Criminal History Form, the Notice and Acknowledgment Form, the Authorization and Release Form, the Certificate of Dean of Law School (provided by the law school), and payment of the application fee.
